Abstract:
This article presents an experience of a new style of blended learning applied by introducing new methodological resources as set out in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) guidelines. The project is driven by a vocation to improve and to enrich the learning process through the use of online teaching resources. Alternative communication resources, other than email, are integrated into the virtual platform, and include discussion forums, seminars and video conferencing, together with wikis to encourage cooperativeness as well as a tool to optimize tutorials. Following implementation, favourable results show that an appropriate and balanced development of virtual resources strengthens the process of student learning, motivation and more effective assimilation of course content. Thus, the benefits of "community connectivity" and feedback overcome the initial difficulties inherent from a methodological change whose style is still new in the Spanish university framework.
