Abstract:
Research Based Learning (RBL) methodology was used in three subjects and two educational levels (Bachelor´s and Master’s degrees) at the ETSIAAB of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). It was used a real experimental trial about the use of biosolarization techniques developed by the professors of that subjects. In each subject a topic (i.e., crop growth, crop diseases and gaseous emissions) were proposed to the students as a research issue. Students had to search information about the theme, to define the objectives of the work and propose the methodology to be followed, to measure in the field, to calculate and analyse the results and to conclude the main findings. The activity was evaluated with a written report elaborated by every student. They also did a survey about the experience. Students considered this methodology better than the traditional one. However, Master´s students obtained higher scores in the RBL activity than Bachelor´s ones. Besides, they considered the activity more positively than Bachelor´s students. Keywords:
