Abstract:
Gambling is frequently depicted as an exhilarating and profitable endeavor, presenting a skewed perception to the public, particularly among young people. The reality, however, is far more intricate and fraught with potential risks. This article highlights the critical necessity for integrating comprehensive gambling education and programs for the youngsters. By analyzing the seductive appeal of gambling, investigating its psychological and financial consequences, and underscoring its role as a form of entertainment rather than a financial solution, we aim to equip the next generation with the requisite knowledge to engage with gambling responsibly. The study examines legislative changes in certain European states that have implemented best practice models for responsible gambling programs, as well as the adverse effects observed in jurisdictions lacking such measures. Furthermore, we advocate for the implementation of educational programs in schools and high schools to ensure that vulnerable groups better understand the harmful effects of irresponsible gambling. Emphasizing the importance of educating students that gambling is a form of entertainment rather than a get-rich-quick scheme, this article seeks to prevent addiction and foster healthier attitudes towards this pervasive industry. Our work not only raises awareness about the inherent dangers of gambling but also proposes practical educational strategies to safeguard and inform the younger generation. Keywords:
