Abstract:
The process of the engineering staff preparation it is necessary to combine the theoretical knowledge transfer to the students with the practical skills creation. Such kind of approach has the aim to teach methods and algorithms of the digital signals simulating including comprehensive ones. For the comprehensive signals it is not enough to use standard tools only. There is a request to create new models to achieve this goal. It is necessary to develop and use original software systems, which provide the simulation tool in specific areas.
One of such tools is an original software system developed to simulate random multidimensional signals by the method of moving summation forming filters. The software system allows students to learn all stages of simulation by practice. This tool’s usage allow students:
1) to study the stage of the simulation algorithm tuning with basic mathematical calculations;
2) to evaluate the influence of the initial conditions over the resulting filter parameters,
3) to examine the model in details,
4) to conduct experimental simulation of the signal with graph and
5) to analyse results,
6) to create the conclusion about the obtained multidimensional random process in accordance with the given characteristics.
The described software usage makes the student’s learning process more visual and accessible, makes it easier for students. They obtain the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills for solving tasks of digital simulation found in real applications. In addition, this software system can be used in practical engineering needs connected with accuracy of simulation algorithms on forming filters evaluation, as well as with verifying the precision of the constructed model of signal.
The experience was gained while work in this system allows students to study a complex scientific, theoretical and practical field. This system is a foundation for further research in the student's course and term papers.
