Abstract:
One of the tasks to be solved in the process of training of modern engineering personnel is teaching methods of analysis and synthesis of algorithms at the junction of scientific and educational disciplines such as higher mathematics, theory of digital signal processing, computer science and programming. It is advisable to apply the results of new research in the profile area in combination with modern simulation tools as a part of the described problem solution.

This paper shows the usefulness of the spectral theory of signal simulation in the educational process for students to solve scientific and practical problems in the field of research and development of new algorithms for signal simulation. A variant of this approach is considered in the article, namely, the basis system of classical Hartley functions generalized in the Paley ordering is used.

The mathematical foundations of simulation algorithms are revealed, the sequence of their execution stages is shown. The main attention is paid to the practical implementation of the simulation process in the MATLAB modeling environment with the development of an original software solution based on a structural approach to design. An example of the initial data of the task and simulation results are given. The analysis of the applicability of MATLAB tools for signal simulation is performed.

It is concluded that the quality of engineers' training in the performance of such tasks done by students who combine simulation components of scientific-theoretical and practical nature. The possibility to improve the students' skills in practical programming is noted.

The results can be used for further research in the field of signal modeling in various basic systems, as well as for direct implementation in the educational process.
