Abstract:
As e-learning conquers new horizons, more and more computer systems emerge to assist students and professors. Moodle platform provides a wide range of tools and a convenient web interfaces. One of Moodle’s advantages is simple plugin creation. There is a great number of add-ons available for free download to enhance a Moodle-based e-learning environment, but few of them offer an instrument to create a pre-defined course structure.

Specifically for this purpose, the Diploma Project Assessment Moodle plugin was created. Based on a simple course template, the plugin creates the whole diploma project structure and allows to enroll students and monitor their progress throughout the semester. The usage of Diploma Project Assessment Plugin provides a way to utilize Moodle monitoring and ranking capabilities for better estimation of student diploma progress. The plugin has been implemented successfully in Bauman Moscow State Technical University by Computer Systems Department and demonstrated excellent performance.

The paper describes the results of three years of Moodle Diploma plugin usage including teachers and students feedbacks.
