Abstract:
The proposed Tell Me Music model is based on empirical research. The methods used are observation, survey methods (survey and discussion) and didactic test. In connection with their application, additional tools (tasks - written, oral, motor) have been developed, which are in the context of the research and help to enrich the information obtained from the listed methods. In accordance with the objectives of the research, popular and not so well-known instrumental works, colloquially characterized as "classical music", created in a wide time range - 18th - 20th centuries - were used for the activity of music perception. The author's shared experience of the visual perception of instrumental works by children and students can be summarized by generalizations referring to: intuitive understanding and understanding of the musical image, upgraded with the logic and meaning of musical expressive means; turning the sounding musical art into a verbal one, as an opportunity to develop speech in its beauty and richness; development in children and students of competences in the field of the Bulgarian language, culture, initiative and the skills of expression through creativity; the teacher's role in provoking children's curiosity and building useful listening habits. In this connection, attention is paid to the mutual dependence of some of the arts: music, dance, speech. Some of the elements of musical expressiveness, as a means of influencing and suggesting the sound fabric, are examined. The goals and tasks noted in the material are supported by examples realized by the author in his practical activity. The findings relate both to the successful implementation of the Tell Me Music model and to the useful skills it creates in children and students, preparing them as future listeners with developed taste, understanding and meaningful emotionality.
