Abstract:
Now, we are living in a high-tech era where most areas of human life are connected to technology. One of the symptoms of such state of affairs is a device which seems to accompany most people almost anywhere; a mobile phone (or a smartphone). Not always, however, the universality of services and devices enhances the willingness of their users to actually use them. The survey performed in The Oncology Centre in Bydgoszcz (OCB) has demonstrated a poor openness of senior citizens to the innovative use of technologies in the patient and health-facility relationship. Requested to participate in the e-survey and to evaluate the quality of the hospital and out-patient services by sending an SMS, the senior citizens did not do it in a way which would be satisfactory. The following barriers (divided into factors) in using mobile phones to assess the quality of healthcare services were identified: physical, psychological, situational, cultural, environmental factors. Therefore the strategies to overcome those barriers has been proposed.

It can refer to the activity of training, which covers both theory and practice, addressed to the persons performing surveys and participating in them. The practical aspects are related to interpersonal communication, organizing, informing and, theoretically, increasing the sensitivity of the researchers to psychological issues thanks to studying cognitive empathy.
