Abstract:
At the moment we are directly dependent on the use of technologies that arise from the application of scientific knowledge to specific problems. Especially in mathematics, there are a lot of different problems from mathematical models of population behavior, even when calculating the strength of a component. Mathematics is perceived as a very abstract science, for many people it is inaccessible. They perceive it as a very difficult field for study. Very often they are afraid than they cannot learn it.

Although many people make extensive use of technical knowledge, they do not associate them with the application of mathematics. One of the current problems in education is less interest in the study of technical and natural sciences compared to humanities. The lack of interest in these disciplines is most likely related to the unawareness of their role in everyday life.

This article briefly presents the results of the research among the full time and combined students of several universities in years 2014-2018. It was determined whether the students have ability present the example of the use of knowledge from the natural sciences of chemistry, physics and mathematics in everyday life, at work and in the study of vocational subjects. In more detail expressions of students' views on the use of mathematics are presented. The survey was conducted in the form of anonymous questionnaires (chemistry, physics and mathematics) and the collection of data from students’ homeworks within choice of mathematical applications.

Based on our research, it has been found that many people fail to give an example of a particular use of knowledge from the natural sciences, such as mathematics, physics and chemistry.
