Abstract:
In recent decades and especially the last few years there has been a significant increase in use of computer technology in everyday life. PC user skills are at very good level for most people entering the college. In the context of increasing quality and availability of computer technology, with increasing user skills of students, with the development of software technology the computer technology is being incorporated into education.
In combined form of study there is less time for mentoring and testing the acquired knowledge as compared to the daily study. Our goal is effectively support home preparation and finding the current level of students´ knowledge. For this reason it is necessary to lead the education efficiently and with minimum time losses. In the case the computer-adaptive testing is very useful tool.
The paper deals with the case of computer-adaptive testing in basic courses of mathematics. Mathematics has some specifics which are presented and which must be taken into consideration during the testing of students. The comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of computer-adaptive tests is presented. The construction of such test is described here. The multiple-choice questions are discussed.
We present the utilization of one of the e-learning part used by students of the combined form of study in Institute of Technology and Business. Final part analyses successfulness of students and statistical evaluation of testing. In the paper there are presented the most common types of errors in tests. We discussed the appropriateness of this type of testing, especially for students of the combined form of higher education. Keywords:
