Abstract:
Currently, electronic processes are being promoted in the construction segment, creating more efficient communication between construction participants. The application and use of BIM (Building Information Modelling) models in a construction project brings new and simpler solutions to the creation of construction budgets. Construction budgeting is one of the most important parts of the project life cycle. Its task is to determine as accurately as possible the cost of the construction work, including profit. Estimating and determining the amount of cost and profit in a construction budget is challenging not only in terms of the quality of the deliverables, but also depends on the budgeting method. The construction budget is an inventory of all items of work and materials (supplies) needed to complete the construction work. The history of budgeting goes back a long way. Today, however, construction budgets and quotations are made almost exclusively using computer technology. Today, designers, budgeters, investors and construction companies mainly use specialised budgeting software to price construction work quickly and efficiently. The latest trend, especially abroad, is the creation of budgets within the framework of Building Information Modelling (BIM). It is possible to draw from the BIM model the Bills of Quantities, which are always in line with the current state of the design. BIM helps in all aspects of construction and project management, including design, scheduling, costing, resource allocation, supply chain management during construction and even monitoring during construction. There are currently a number of specialised construction budgeting and costing programs available to users in the Slovak market. One of the tools that provide such comprehensive solutions is CENKROS 4, which is the best-selling construction production pricing software in Slovakia. The educational process at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Košice responds to the development and implementation of new innovative technologies in the processes of construction production pricing. Based on the above mentioned facts, the aim of the paper is to point out the implementation of innovative tools in the educational process within the subject of budgeting and valuation of construction production. Keywords:
