Abstract:
The paper addresses the issue of blended learning in Enhancement Certificate Course for Content Teachers in the field of professional training in English of technical university students. The main goal of career enhancement programme Enhancement Certificate Course Teaching of Professional Training Modules in English is to develop pedagogical competence in teaching vocational subjects in English, including the use of e-learning technologies.
The career enhancement programme pursues several purposes:
1) to increase the number of teachers capable to create educational materials, teach using English language and E-learning technologies;
2) to enhance the number of English language educational courses implemented with the help of electronic resources for blended learning technology.
The contents of the programme modular units are explained in the paper.Each of the four blocks of the programme is realized on the basis of blended learning in e-learning environment “Moodle”, which offers a wide range of opportunities to full-fledged support of the learning process. This process includes various ways of presenting educational material, knowledge testing and monitoring progress.
Blended learning is considered as the integration of traditional forms with electronic, distant and mobile learning.
At the workshops with lectors, who teach their discipline in English, the current approaches to blended learning pedagogical design of disciplines, the basic approaches to the design of e-learning courses, students’ performance evaluation and feedback provision are analyzed. Finally, the results of the survey aimed at assessing the students’ satisfaction with the course outcomes are revealed. The results of the survey are to be taken into account in the programme enhancement.
