Abstract:
The restrictions due to COVID-19 (March-June 2020) necessitated the interruption of the educational process in the Bulgarian schools. The unusual situation related to the pandemic situation necessitated the introduction of e- learning (distant) in the country. In connection with this, a reorganization was needed both in the form of organization in schools and in teaching methods. The participants in the educational process in Bulgaria - teachers, students, principals, parents, had to go through a big change.
The article presents the results of a survey among first-year students (former last year high school students in 2019-2020) with different profiles - engineering and natural sciences / methodologists. During e-learning, they were at the end of their school education, on the threshold of state matriculation exams. The survey was conducted in September 2020 with over 300 first-year students at the Technical University - Sofia and Sofia University.
The aim of the study is to provide an overview of the situation and to make recommendations for improving the quality of distance learning in school education. A balance is sought between providing an optimal e-learning environment (resources, platforms, good practices, student workload), teachers' skills to work in an e-learning environment and opportunities to support students. Keywords:
