Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to show new trends in digital education, the current state of its implementation, expected results and problems in this regard. Digital education, in fact, is a product of the last few years, although it is obvious that we need modern devices and means of information transfer for its development. Virtual lectures, modern e-learning courses, educational games, e-tests, educational resources sites have become available for organizing independent work of graduate students. Within the framework of the article, e-learning management systems, approaches to the organization of effective learning activities of students, contributing to the individualization of learning process are considered. Risks and prospects of introducing e-learning on the basis of higher education are shown. Digital learning, along with its benefits, has also shown its limitations. The results of the control tests, although showing a rather high percentage of academic performance among individual students, demonstrate that the average performance indicator is lower due to the attrition of students at the learning stage. According to student flow analysis, the attrition rate for the online course was 13.5%, compared to 7.2% for offline (face-to face) learning.

Despite this, modern universities, promoting digital learning projects, provide trainings for faculty staff in mastering new technologies (for example, design, development and implementation of online courses, online tutoring), offer blended learning for students (full-time and online) and implement procedures for validating courses or steering program content.
