Abstract:
Parents are often engaged in co-operation with the school, in many cases however, schools do not know the opinion of parents regarding the way of education. Taking into account great subjectivity of the respondents’ answers, we decided to find out how parents of pupils attending the fourth and fifth grade of primary schools perceive the educational process from the perspective of the use of teaching methods. The aim of this paper is to describe and analyse the parents’ point of view on the way of education in primary school, to identify the knowledge of parents in teaching methods, as well as their views concerning the application of methods within the courses of Geography and History. This paper is the result of a broader quantitative survey focused on the knowledge of teaching methods in terms of the different actors (teachers, pupils, parents) of the educational process in primary education. With regard to the objective of the research, a questionnaire was chosen as the basic research method.
