IMAGE OF A TEACHER IN LINGUISTIC CONSCIOUSNESS OF CHILDREN

Abstract:
The paper deals with the problem of developing qualities teacher should possess to be a true instructor for children. We consider the way children see the teacher has key importance in study process. Thus, the research was conducted to find out the image of a teacher the children currently have in their consciousness. The image of a schoolteacher was considered from psychological, linguistic and psycholinguistic point of view.
To achieve the aim, we conducted an experiment in which the participants were children of the fourth form of a public secondary school. We determined three basic elements of a professional: appearance, purpose, evaluation. Based on the three elements, we made a list of question the participants were to answer: “What does he/she wear” - appearance, “What does he/she do?” - purpose, “What is he/she like?” - evaluation.
Having analyzed the results, we have highlighted the nuclear, peripheral and single reactions, presenting the data in percentage. Keywords:
