Abstract:

Today all life spheres of our society have been changing significantly. In particular, it also applies to the system of higher education. Our government is constantly improving the quality of professional training of future specialists and educational technologies.
The article shows the importance and urgency of Foreign Languages Academic Competition (FLAC). We try to pay your attention to this issue because of the fact that FLAC allows to solve a whole complex of problems, competitions of such kind stimulate the interest of students to learn languages and cultures, develop intelligence and cognitive independence and, thereby, contribute to the formation of a socially active and creative personality. Also we should mention that FLAC promotes the development of an innovative educational environment.

The necessity to include FLAC in the educational process as an important condition for the formation of professionalism of future specialists is considered by the authors due to the realization of the FLAC "Prometheus" in the course management system Moodle. The 1-2 courses students of non-linguistic majors can participate in this contest. The authors use the methods of theoretical research literature review and synthesis of advanced pedagogical experience in the application of information technologies for foreign language academic competition and empirical research (testing, questioning, methods of information presentation).We identify main problems in foreign-language training of graduates and outline ways to overcome them and offer some recommendations. Conducting of Academic Competition is necessary and important in the system of high education. It gives an opportunity to develop professionally significant qualities, skills and abilities of future specialists.
