Abstract:
This research project explains a Creative Instructional Innovation model for professional teachers as a sub-model of the innovation for teachers’ professional development. The sub-model was derived from the main model called “PD3CE” (Perceive, Develop, Design, Do, Criticize and Evaluate) which was integrated from several important components including fundamental concept, principles, strategies, context, input, procedures, and implementation of schools. The sub-model applied in this project was specifically developed, and later applied to schools based on their problems and needs.
The study was conducted by using a participatory action research approach, research and development, and mixed method. The sample of the study was consisted of two role-model schools in the Western region of Thailand; Tessabarn 1 Wat Nang Wang School (Saharat U-Thit) at Samutsongkram province, and Matthayomthanbinkampangsean School at Nakhon Pathom province. The data was analyzed by applying content analysis, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.

After the sub-model was implemented, the results indicated that:

1. At Wat Nang Wang School (Saharat U-Thit) School, the school executives and teachers collaborated under the main model “PD3CE”, and created the innovation in creative learning called “2R3C”. This sub-model included five main stages, Reflexive (R), Construction (C), Communicate (C), Reflection (R) Consent (C). After applying the model “My House” to the fifth grade English vocabulary lesson, the students’ proficiency was significantly higher at the level of .05.
2. As for Matthayomthanbinkampangsean School, teachers developed the innovation in creative learning called “PAR2C”. This sub-model included five stages; Prepare (P), Aware (A), Reflect (R), Construct (C) and Crystallize (C). After applying the model “Interesting Economics” to, the seventh grade Social Studies lesson, the students’ proficiency was significantly higher at the level of .05.
3. In the case of the secondary school or Matthayomthanbinkampangsean School, teachers collaborated the main model “PD3CE” and generated the innovation in creative learning called “PAR2C”. This sub-model included 5 stages, which were Prepare (P), Aware (A), Reflect (R), Construct (C) and Crystallize (C). After applied the model with “Interesting Economics”, the seventh grade Social Studies lesson the students’ proficiency was higher significantly at the level of .05.

The creative instructional innovation under the model “PD3CE” is found useful for schools to develop a specific sub-model for each school based on their problems and needs. The result also showed positive results in students’ academic achievement and teachers’ professional development.
