Abstract:
Currently, universities are immersed in what is known as the ‘European convergence’, which will take us to the EHEA in 2010. The objective in the development of the European Higher Education Area is providing Europe with an homogeneous university system, compatible and flexible which allow European university graduate and undergraduate students a wider range of mobility opportunities, as well as offering the European university system some levels of quality and transparency by means of systems of evaluation that make it attractive and competitive at an international level in the current process of globalization.
In this paper, it is interested in focusing our reflection on the two modalities of distance learning: e-learning and b-learning, which basically consist on the virtualization of the learning processes through the use of information devices and technologies. The experience here presented is developed within the context of the project “Analysis and proposition of university teaching competences for the development of students’ meaningful learning through e-learning and b-learning within the framework of the European Higher Education Area” , that the group FODIP (Spanish acronym for Teaching Formation and Pedagogical Innovation) of the Didactics Department and Educative Organization of the UB (University of Barcelona) Pedagogy Faculty, together with several Spanish universities develop within the framework of the Studies and Analysis Program of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
