Abstract:
The relevance of the investigated problem is caused by the need of improvement of the efficiency of foreign language academic communication training using information technologies. The current situation associated with the pandemic calls for more intensive use of such technical training tools that allow students to obtain the necessary knowledge distantly. This article is focused on the involving applications for smartphones in gaining communication skills. The leading methods to the research of the problem is the method of comparison and analysis. The main result of the research is revealing criteria for analysis of three smartphone applications (Coursera, Hellotalk and Physics Quiz) in terms of user-friendliness and effective learning. Moreover specific indicators to reveal the most optimal for use in the process of academic communication training were developed. Materials of this article can be useful for teachers and students of universities in the study of Academic Communication in English.
