Abstract:
This paper aims to present the project “An INTegral Teacher Training for developing digital and communicative competences and subject content learning at schools (intTT)”, a Socrates-Comenius project involving six Universities: Comenius, Bratislava (Slovakia), Helsinki (Finland), Lisboa (Portugal), Leicester (United Kingdom) and Teknik, Karadeniz (Turkey). This project has been financed by the Executive European Commission.

This team has been working together in educational projects, partners are convinced of the need to train teachers in developing communicative and digital competences to foster significant learning of subject content. These competences are identified as key competences for lifelong learning and are closely related to subject content learning, personal and professional development in today’s society. Moreover, a good achievement of communicative and digital competences are needed for all areas of employment & should be developed in Compulsory Education.

Although there are some studies about digital and communicative competences in Compulsory School, the innovation of this project approach lies on an integral and cooperative teaching-learning method of both competences together in order to improve their development and, at the same time, to use them in every subject area for improving the teaching/learning process of pupils. Moreover, the teaching/learning of subject content is benefited of this interconnexion as the better command of communicative and digital competences in pupils is, the better pupils are prepared to assimilate any subject content.

This paper presents the main aims and lines of the project.
