Abstract:
This research focuses on the 4th Industrial revolution and the new teaching technologies. The aim of this research is to perform a study of one university management course to present the common issues and difference between the effect of virtual reality (VR)-based teaching and Flip-learning teaching method. To achieve this goal, the authors used the expert method, focus group interviews, and a literature review. There were two hypotheses and two research questions on the relationship between teaching method and competency development. As a case study for this research, the author chose Korea University of Technology and Education and designed a survey to assess students’ competencies. The participants were 2nd- and 3rd-grade university students. Quantitative data were collected from the interview forms developed by the researcher; qualitative data were analyzed using the expert method and field study. Significant tools and methods were observed between Flip-learning and VR teaching approaches. Furthermore, it was noted that different teaching methods affect competency development in different ways.
