Abstract:
Website development for learning purposes has been a great demand in the education field. Active learning environment is made possible by learning through websites. Collaborative learning is one of the kinds of active learning where students work actively together in a group to accomplish the learning objectives that they have agreed. Conventional collaborative learning is bound to time and place factor. Hence, the ThermoCollaborate website was developed to enable learning Thermochemistry over the time and place factors. ThermoCollaborate provides an alternative for the students to learn the chapter Thermochemistry and is purposely designed to enhance the students understanding regarding this chapter in a more interactive collaborative learning environment. The website was developed with the use of the technology of Adobe Dreamweaver 8 and MySQL databases. The design model being implemented is the Hanafinn and Peck Model.
