Abstract:
Annotation:
The study of the main trends in the field of education at the Higher School in modern conditions is an urgent task today. The purpose of the article is to analyze the influence of forms of education based only on social networks on the formation of a student's IT competence during the period of universal distance learning in a pandemic, when non-verbal interaction between all participants in the educational process was excluded.

Methods:
The development of information and communication technologies in the process of the developing fourth industrial revolution provides new opportunities for education, and also dictates increased requirements for the level of training of specialists. The increasing attention to the assessment of the quality of education is determined by modern professional standards that form the necessary criteria for specialists of all levels. The transition of education to forms of u-learning is the harbinger of a new digital revolution. The most effective forms of interactive interaction with students in the educational process: conversation, debate, games, public presentations of the project, brainstorming become possible using social networks. However, the use of social networks in the period of universal distance learning requires the transformation of these forms in the context of a pandemic. The main recommendations for using these forms are formulated. The main criteria for the effectiveness of educational technologies used in teaching have been developed, such as the availability, structuredness of information in order to ensure its determinism and visualization, which contribute to the successful mastering of the material.

Results:
The study analyzes the learning outcomes of 686 students of the first and second years of study in the disciplines of Informatics and Information Technology for the spring semester, which was held in the universal distance learning mode. For comparison, data on academic performance in the same disciplines for the spring of 2019 were also used. The main tendencies and disadvantages of the distance form were revealed, which were expressed in a decrease in academic performance by 22% for first-year students and by 16% for the second. Identified serious problems with the material and technical support of the educational process. The positive aspects include increased independence and the development of self-discipline among students.

Conclusions:
The article deals with a complex and ambiguous problem of the educational process in the context of a universal transition to distance learning. The main model that ensures the effectiveness of learning is a mixed form, which combines various forms of interaction of all participants in the educational process. General recommendations for the application of its various forms are proposed.
