Abstract:
As the cold wave of hiring from an industry restructuring stage has begun recently, the crisis in manufacturing, the basis for economic growth and employment growth, is expanding. This is not just a problem in Korea, and developed countries are experiencing a decline in manufacturing jobs due to automation, process rationalization, technological innovation and overseas relocation of factories. However, with the advent of the fourth industrial revolution, the importance of manufacturing is again being emphasized by the new job drivers. Manufacturing will have increased productivity and technological innovation throughout the entire economy by supplying ICT (ICT) appliances and automation machinery, and the separation between manufacturing and service industries is blurred by the separation between jobs and services. Therefore, research will be needed to see if the smart factory that represents manufacturing innovation will create or reduce employment.
Therefore, this study conducts an empirical analysis on whether jobs are lost or increased in the field of science and technology in a survey of companies that have adopted smart factories in Korean manufacturing. Further, by analyzing the demand for job changes and capacity changes in the manufacturing industry through in-depth interviews with manufacturing businesses, the company will seek ways to change jobs and education under the fourth industrial revolution in the future. Keywords:
