Abstract:
The mankind of the today world suffers from the global ecological crisis that might grow into disaster very soon. Therefore, ecological issues have gained philosophical and moral nature in the modern world. Modern ecology has become the philosophical and methodological ground of the education and knowledge.
The terms “Ecological Education”, “Ecologization of Education” appeared to be the terms of the 21st century as the "Ecologization of Education” is taking place not only while teaching natural sciences but any other subjects too. Solutions to the ecological problem can be found by the humanization and ecologization of education.
We decided to study how the process of Ecologization of Education within the educational programmes such as: Pedagogy, English Philology, Russian Philology is being managed at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
The fact that our University considers the ecological issue to be one of the priorities is revealed in its mission where it is clearly stated that the BSU finds the study of the Culture of the South-West Georgia, the Black Sea Biology and Ecology, Studies in Phytopathology, Agrarian field and Tourism to be the priorities for the development of the Ajara Region. The objective of our research is to find out how integration of the ecology is ensured on the level of the educational programmes. Moreover, the research will provide the recommendations for the improvements to ensure sustainability of the operation and implementation of the Educational Programmes oriented on global mankind issues in parallel with building the field specific skills and competences.
