Abstract:
In an actively developing labor market, for students of practice-oriented specialties, one of the decisive factors for choosing a university is the possibility of early employment.

The Economics Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University (EF MSU) uses up-to-date tools from leading companies to evaluate students’ work readiness and their compliance with the requirements of potential employers.

The competency assessment of management students was performed with a model developed by ECOPSY (a Russian leading HR consulting company), based on technology that predicts actual behavior using data and artificial intelligence (questionnaire delta.ai). The study involved 114 3rd year undergraduate management students at the EF MSU.

For this group of students during the 3rd year of study (2022-2023), in addition to the delta.ai tool, TalantQ ability testing was also carried out, which together allows a comprehensive assessment of students’ competencies.

As a result of the study, an image of a student was formed, including measurements on a list of the following 11 competencies: Reliability, Discipline, Planning, Responsibility, Determination, Striving for Excellence, Innovation, Development Orientation, Decision Making, System Thinking, and Business Thinking. Based on the obtained results, the authors developed recommendations for competency improvement within the educational process during further training.
