THE LINK BETWEEN SOCIAL CAPITAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL EMPOWERMENT AND JOB SATISFACTION: A CASE OF TEHRAN GOVERNOR

Abstract:
The present study aims to present a structural model and to explain the relationships between the dimensions of social capital, psychological empowerment and job satisfaction of the employees of the Governor of Tehran. The research methodology of the project from purpose of the study point of view is applied research, from the point of time horizon is cross sectional and from point of data collection is a correlation study. The target population of the survey includes all staff working at Tehran's governor during 2013-14 which is reported about 1,000 people. Refer to the Krejcie and Morgan sample size table, a sample of 278 employees were selected randomly. For the purpose of data collection, combination of the revised version of three questionnaires was used to evaluate psychological empowerment mediate the relationship between social capital and job satisfaction of employees. The validity of the questionnaires was evaluated through content and construct validity and reliability of the survey was explored through pilot study of 30 staff and the calculated Cronbach Alpha was 0.896 for job satisfaction scale, 0.705 for social capital and 0.712 for empowerment survey. To analyze the collected data, descriptive statistic including frequency and percentage tables, line chart of Means, central tendency indicators: standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis; and inferential statistics including Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, regression test, U Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis test was used. The results show that according to the County staff in Tehran there is a significant relationship between the components of job satisfaction, employee empowerment and social capital.
