Abstract:
The recognition of Child Rights is rooted in the recognition of dignity inhere in a child. Education for all fundamentally rests therein.
The problem that children in India still continue to struggle to escape is the faulty examination system and the absence of educational transaction in their mother tongue.
These are two dimensional. Inefficient evaluation and marking of answer scripts coupled with demands of economy dictated by need for only a limited number of technical and professional studies seats in turn dictated by employability of those who qualify therefrom. The other being the willful sufferance of failure at the policy making level to rectify the known deficiencies and to persist with opaque evaluation practices.
The paper will deal with the instances of defective answer scripts and question papers and also the marking schemes to the examiners. The reasons for the appalling high drop out rate from school and consistent failing of a large number of students year after year will be examined.
The paper will reflect on the huge spend in education as a percentage of GDP justified in the name of fulfilling that fundamental requirement of children accompanied by empowerment to only a miniscule percentage of students .
The paper will also examine the educational process as a medium of invisible interference in shaping a society if not kept transparent and in a state of continuous assessment.
In essence the paper will share the impact of such a systemic situation on deliverance of child rights especially in a democratic world. Keywords:
