Abstract:
The successful implementation of e-learning to the users has been a challenging area since the introduction of this type of learning in higher education and the issue of successful delivery has been the most widely researched topic in the area of implementation. The volume of published studies on the students dropout in online courses, the importance of web architecture in the delivery of e-learning, the concerns about successful implementation of e-learning, the use and importance of web indexes for ranking e-universities, and the attempt of e-learning providers for maximizing potentials of e-learning, all are the issues that have created both the necessity and commitment to the researchers, e-learning providers, and educational policy makers to investigate users needs in online education for better addressing these needs and improving the system functionality. In this study, on the base of a literature review, we investigate and discuss these needs comprehensively. These needs are; economical, educational, social, technical, technological, and security needs.
