Abstract:
This research aims to study teachers’ perceptions on myths, knowledge and assumptions on creativity and provide a theoretical introduction of concepts related to it. In this context, after a literature review, teachers opinions on their creativity myths were received with a questionnaire. The study group involved 211 teachers working in various cities in Turkey during the 2016-2017 school year.

Since there has been no prior study or a norm group to take reference about this topic, analysis of the data received from the questionnaire was made through descriptive and correlational analysis.

Rates for participation were analyzed for each question according to age and gender variables. "Spearman rho" was used to explain the relation between the data.

According to the results of the study, there has been a meaningful difference on creativity in terms of age and gender.

The concept of “creativity” is analyzed according to social perception, popular myths, misbeliefs and teacher perceptions and suggestions were made after consideration of the results.
