JUXTAPOSITION OF THE METHODOLOGY BY OBJECTIVES AND METHODOLOGY FOR LEARNING SKILLS OF AN INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE

Abstract:When it comes to educational opportunities for ethnic groups in Latin America, usually is often said they are limited due to the language barrier, hence there is still a huge percentage of indigenous language speakers in rural communities with scarce educational resources. The availability of information technology tools to assist in the Spanish learning process may have a significant impact in reducing the time it takes to be proficient in a second language.
This paper shows the socio-semiotic study of the Assisted Multimedia Translator (AMT), which can display the translated word in written form, allowing the user to playback the spoken version, as well as view its pictorial illustration. The system was designed to become a multilingual platform in subsequent versions. The first version contains the indigenous language of Mexico Ch'ol and Spanish.
The development of skills and learning Ch'ol language skills is achieved by following the rules and procedures for getting the expected results to take advantage of multimedia program analyzed in this paper. Particularly the ability to use language is emphasized in the Ch'ol-Spanish Multimedia Aided Translator by the objective of the project software (to facilitate language learning process).
In addition to the Ch'ol language word learning or Spanish learning, for a Ch'ol speaker learning, other items such as (a) the handling of at least three of the four levels of language learning, (b ) computing language, (c) visual language and rhetoric of the sign, image and design are included.
The purpose of this paper is to share the experience of designing the learning pedagogical strategy of taking the best learning through methodology objectives to take users to learn a skill and direct them towards the socio-training learning through context problems under the competencies methodology.
