Abstract:
Teaching innovation efforts have been flourishing around the European Union since the European Higher Education Area was boosted through the Bologna process. However, these efforts have been disaggregated. In this context, this article shows the effects of facilitating the learning of the main theoretical concepts of the subjects of statistics and economics, which are currently taught in the degrees of Economics and Business Administration and Management (ADE). In doing so, we use GIFs audiovisual media with an approximate duration of 15 seconds. Unlike video-tutorials, these GIFs are considered as “knowledge pills” contributing to improve the learning process as well as students’ motivation in a context in which social networks and digitalization are being used as learning methodologies. The results obtained from different surveys show that this innovative methodology is welcomed by students and teachers. Furthermore, their involvement has made students try to create their own GIFs with the main concepts of the subjects.
