Abstract:
Nowadays college students are facing a number of different evaluation methodologies. These methodologies can change significantly according to the University policies and practices and are shaped by education regulations established on the national level. However, students’ preferences regarding the assessment of their knowledge and progress are often neglected. The purpose of this paper is to understand collage students’ opinions and preferences regarding different evaluation processes, such as written and oral exams, midterm and final exams, homework and continuous evaluation system. Data were collected through two empirical studies among students of Faculty of Economics from two Universities. The first study took place in December 2016 and January 2017 among students of the University of Valencia in Spain. The second study was conducted in April 2017 between students of the University of Split in Croatia. Data were analysed with the SPSS software and were approached from the cross-cultural point of view.
