Abstract:
Summary:
The National Program Peraj-Mexico allows university students to perform Social Service as tutors (one to one) of children from public elementary schools, supporting and motivating them to develop their maximum potential.
The Peraj tutoring is a sustained positive relationship between a child and a young adult (varsity), in which the youth supports, guides and assists the child, strengthening their abilities.
The Program seeks to enhance the child with a meaningful and personalized relationship between the varsity and the child: their self-esteem, social skills, study habits and expand their general culture and horizons. The university student who acts as a tutor becomes a positive model to follow for the tutored (friend).
For college students, the Peraj program offers a space for public cooperation developing and expressing their social commitment, enriching their personal development as future professionals, and fulfilling University Social Service besides.
The Peraj tutoring illustrates a sustained positive relationship between a child and young university student (varsity), in which the youth supports, guides and assists the child, strengthening their abilities.

Objective:
To guide fifth and sixth graders enrolled in public elementary schools, preferably attending to schools located in marginalized communities and closer to Higher Education Institutions, to develop their individual and social potential by establishing a meaningful relationship with a young university student as the tutor.

Development:
Peraj-México is a National program that adopts the Universidad Veracruzana for the students of the different degrees to perform their Social Service, being guardians fifth and sixth graders in which they develop different areas such as:
Affective.- Including self-esteem, emotional support, affect expression, bonding, and self-care.
Communication.- Developing verbal and written communication skills.
Social.- Interaction, collaboration, integration, sense of belonging.
Motivational.- Expanding professional aspirations and life projects.
Cultural.- Enriching its cultural, scientific and recreational heritage.
School.- Learning, habits of study and developing skills.

Conclusions:
Participating in the Peraj-México program brings multiple benefits for students from Universidad Veracruzana, also for the elementary school's students served and furthermore for the society itself, some of the advantages obtained:
Elementary students:
• Improve study habits and thus their academic performance.
• Strengthening self-esteem and developing social skills.
University students:
• Enhancing integral formation.
• Increasing vocational skills on social retribution towards the community
Society:
• Improves children's life quality, offering an opportunity to become committed adults.
