Abstract:
European universities have to provide their students with the necessary digital skills so that they can function effectively in the new cultural and labour scene and, to achieve this goal, it is necessary for university lecturers to possess these skills at the appropriate level that allows them to train their students to acquire them.

In this sense, the European Strategy for Universities and the Digital Education Plan 2021-2027 point to digital transformation as one of the challenges facing Europe and, forming part of it, is the development of digital skills.

In this situation, we must bear in mind that the COVID-19 pandemic has forced in some cases, and has pushed enormously in others, digital transformation in many areas, and particularly in university education.

In this field, a recent CRUE-TIC report concludes that a large part of the teaching staff of the Spanish University System perceives that they have digital competences belonging to levels B-B2 (significant use, transformation, strategy, versatility, integration, exchange) of the framework DigCompEdu.

This paper describes the design and methodology of an online and asynchronous experience for the acquisition of different digital skills by a large group of university lecturers (465 lecturers). An experience that was highly valued by almost all of the participants and that is easily scalable and exportable to other professional fields.
