Abstract:
Adaptive learning is a discrete way of giving customized learning to connect the students. About 1.35 billion people speaks English language worldwide. Around 15 Million people can speak English in Malaysia. Malaysia ranked 3rd in English language proficiency among Asian countries. So, it is well-developed fact that speaking and writing good English is not an option anymore. There are many adaptive learning websites and apps are available, but there is a limited webpage prepared for A-level English. Adaptive learning English (ALALE) is an online English language learning platform designed for A-level English students. It uses the adaptive learning method simultaneously. It provides a free platform to all Malaysian A-level learners on their English language. It can trace their progress in real-time and the student will be able to get a free certificate upon completion. ALALE gives full control to the academicians and guardians. This will help them to track their students’ progress. The student could change the difficulty level of the questions and customize it for their own level of use. By doing the test several times, it will benefit students to decrease nervousness while sitting for the actual formal examination. So, it helps students to reduce exam anxiety. This adaptive learning system uses formative assessment to evaluate the student’s level. Formative assessment includes a broad range of tools that teachers use to evaluate student understanding, need of learning, and development in their courses, units, or courses. This project was tested by the students, educators, and guardians. It could produce a test and be delivered to specific learners. In view of these elements, it gives a huge hand to help educators and parents to deal with students' informed level and progress as well.
