THE EQUITY OF SUBJECTIVE EVALUATIONS IN ONGOING EVALUATION
The objective of this paper is to analyze the implications that the introduction of ongoing evaluation in the new degree courses has had on the equity in the evaluation process. Assessment is a process that uses information gathered through measurement to analyze or judge a learner’s performance on some relevant work tasks. In the context of the Higher Education Area, one of the biggest shifts has been the significant change in the evaluation system of learning by students. In this sense, the results of empirical evaluations of the subject Introduction to Marketing in the Business Administration Degree from the University of Alicante show that continuous evaluation introduce important biases in the evaluation process of students. In fact, the results show that factors such as the teacher professional degree or the organization of teaching between different groups influence the process of evaluation and assessment of students.
