Abstract:
Our study is elaborated starting from the central ideas of an International Erasmus Plus project. We tried to present WHY and HOW we can implement in our universities (all over the world) an Inquiry Based or a Research Based Learning based on Reflective Capability of our students. Reflect Lab is a just ended European Founded Erasmus KA2 project which proposed support for HE teachers and more especially lecturers to implement inquiry-based learning during their seminars. For this, socio-scientific teaching/learning laboratories have been developed and tested. The objective was to establish an innovative course structure which fosters self-directed learning at Higher Education Institutions. All five project partners – four universities and a Research Institute from Hannover University, Germany (as a coordinator) have tried to implement Reflect Labs on our own Curricula. One of the main results of the project was materialised in a platform that cumulates a series of examples of tools and learning examples that were put into practice on a target group consisting of lecturers at universities, students, pupils. We intend to underline the idea of a Reflective Learning like a solution using our university experiences and examples; as such the project sets a counterpoint to the widely criticized reduction of learning in HEI to sole knowledge transfer.
