Abstract:
Mechanical Technology subject was previously named as Technika Mechanical. Technika Mechanical subject was having different specialisation i.e. fitting; welding; motor mechanics and fluids/hydraulics technics which were mainly specialised careers taught at schools. Therefore, during the new curriculum which is NCS, it was then called Mechanical Technology which combined all knowledge specialisation in order to have a deeper understanding for all fields. The new subject then where phased in with another component of Technological process that was not part of the old curriculum (NATTED 550). Then, it is more crucial to make students aware of the vital role on stages of technological process i.e. investigation, drafting a sketches; making a model and evaluating the model. The data were collected through documentation of students’ portfolio. The population was 90 students from first year to thirds year. The researcher randomly sampled 5 students for each level for convenience purpose. This paper revealed that students were partials able to explain the technological process on their projects. However, there is a need to help them to understand how it can be improved and used in their mechanical projects. Keywords:
NCS, Mechanical Technology, Technological Process.
