Abstract:
"The Story Workshop approach is one of the best examples of a high-quality curriculum and instructional method that fully integrates four critical areas in literacy: reading, writing, speaking, and listening."--Cynthia Way, The Education Alliance at Brown University. Used by teachers with a reasonable amount of training, the method also integrates the three major ways of learning in every phace--the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. These ways of learning are not so distinct in practice, but are basic to human expression and problem-solving. They interpenetrate all Story Workshop activities.
The methodology is flexible. It enables the teacher to engage students of a diversity of demographic groups, ages, classes.
The DVD shows classes from Graduate School to 4th grade, how it works on different levels

The method provides means of effective classroom management while actually raising the demand on the students. Students are engaged and enjoy this form of learning.
