LABOR MARKET EXPECTATIONS WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY WALLS: OPPORTUNITIES OF PRACTICE-ORIENTED EDUCATION

Abstract:
All educational institution, but especially higher educational institutions need to focus on training students who are as capable as possible in the labor market. This allows the universities to ensure that it provides valuable education to the students studying there. This also makes the institution attractive to other high school students as well. Practice-oriented training has meaning if the students meet tasks and practices from the real labor market and playing, practicing real situational roles during their education.
This paper contains couple of suggestions for institutions providing training as administrative officer through experience gained in southern Slovakia. It details how the tasks and practices of the current administrative labor market can be integrated into the education. The method is tested at the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, at study program called Hungarian-Slovak Bilingual Mediator. This study program provides education to the field of administration mainly to southern Slovakia, where beside the Slovak language the Hungarian minority language can be used during the administration. For these students, the multilingualism is importantly necessary, so the education should focus on this as well.
The aims of the research:
i) to find the ways to provide as practice-oriented education to university students as much as possible
ii) summarize how the information gathered in the field of administrative labor market can be utilized in different kind of courses
The method of the research:
i) teaching couple of courses based on labor market experience
