Abstract:
The combination of knowledge management (KM) and business intelligence (BI) System allows the creation of a self-learning organizational management (SLM) concept.
The self-learning organization uses information from inside (BI), knowledge (KM) and outside (Benchmark) to optimize or reorganize processes. As an example the management and administrative systems can be used in different ways therefore it is a recommendation to know how to use them properly. SLM analyses the process and supports all other employee to use the systems in the right way and monitors them to optimize the procedure.
SLM can also be used analyzing dependences between departments e.g. production and purchasing and is able to propose changes for effectiveness.
The vision of the concept is that SLM is able to continuously improve all core factors of an organization so that a holistic view can be created.
The aim of the paper is to develop a conceptual IT System as well as organizational concept with the focus on organizational development by on the job training of the employees, monitoring and certifying their knowledge. SLM should be able to create reasonable data, advices and is a toolset for the self-directed decision management (Which employee does it best? What experience are necessary for the next step of organizational development? Which training or knowledge is needed?). In fact the system itself should use information to bootstrap organizational learning in different steps of organizational levels, by knowing the current level and the overall goal(s) of the organization.
Another important point which has to be considered is the ethical and legal aspects by using such highly sensitive personal data.
