Abstract:
Today the majority of the students and pupils are digital natives. Therefore, modern information technology should become a part of everyday education. Formerly the usage of the information technology is limited by the technical know-how of the lecturer. Usually information technology and modern collaboration tools substitute only working methods which the lecturer is able to handle. But knowledge can be gained and distributed in many more ways than ever before, to foster the different types of learners by using the all new interconnection, communication and collaboration possibilities in an organised fashion. But often this collaboration opportunities lie idle. They have to be facilitated, therefore Management of Collaboration (MoC) is needed to support instructors and learners.

We suggest to install a MoC manager who involves every party, gathers all expectations and needs, examines skills of the involved persons and establishes a concept for the specific requirements. Afterwards a collaborative learning environment can be set up according to the concept. The setup will be custom-made for the lecturer to share and pass his or her specific knowledge and the associated content while encouraging the learners’ active participation.
