Abstract:

The report presents and deals with problems related to: the role of contemporary libraries in modern society; analysing the transformations that take place in the field of library technologies and their role in solving the tasks of knowledge management in contemporary electronic, scientific and educational space. Solutions that help to organise intelligent scientific and educational library resources are researched and studied. Main technological approaches are identified as well as ways of organising activities, related to recording, cataloguing, preserving and restoring as well as digitizing books, literary materials and documents in the region of Strandzha mountain, Bulgaria. The research, systematization and popularization of this documentary cultural heritage will contribute to the discovery of new factual as well as historical and cultural information about the socio-political, economic and cultural life in the region. Designing a digital and interactive archive that includes information and materials (photos, documents, texts) on significant dates and events from the history of Bulgaria and Strandzha region in particular, will ensure a guaranteed access for disadvantaged groups of people to the cultural heritage.
