Abstract:
Corporate English courses are the norm in the international business environment. Investing in personnel training is necessary for companies working with foreign investors or clients or just planning to enter the international arena. The purpose of the training is to improve the level of business and professional English of employees. Corporate English learning differs significantly from other forms of education. Classes are held at the company's office and the language school, where the teacher draws a specific training schedule up for employees, forms the groups, and carries testing out. The training program is developed for each company, depending on the scope of its activities. The task of corporate courses is that the terminology necessary in the course of work is studied. Corporate courses have specialized programs designed for different areas of business. The article describes that there are training programs for employees of the banking or automotive sector and lawyers, accountants, marketers, and sales and procurement specialists. Specialists develop training courses for any field of activity. There are short-term, "targeted" training programs. The applied teaching methods are generally divided into "communicative methodology," "grammar – vocabulary – listening – writing," and game. Any of them is applicable in the business sector.

Preference, as a rule, it is given to the communicative method as the most effective. Specialized courses take less time than standard ones. Corporate English language training analysis is based on existing practices in large automotive companies such as Mercedes and Porsche. It shows all the pros and cons of learning a foreign language in a business environment. The study was conducted for three years by the network educational institutions Denis’ School, one of the largest in the market of corporate English language training in Russia, based on the multinational automotive concern Daimler AG in Moscow, namely in the offices of Mercedes-Bens, as well as in the offices of the automaker Porsche AG. At the end of each course, final testing of employees for English language proficiency in the business sphere was conducted. The results showed a progressive increase in knowledge by more than five times compared to standard courses. It is also worth noting that joint classes brought the team together, improved the microclimate, and employees immediately began to apply their knowledge in practice.
