Abstract:
Educational materials are of great importance for both teaching and learning process. Consideration of students’ preferences in the course design increases their awareness of learning and lead to successful knowledge acquisition. The aim of this study is to reveal students’ preferences in course design for its further modification. The importance of this research is accounted for the necessity to refine and improve the course “Business English” for Master’s Degree students developed according to the new educational standards. The study used qualitative and quantitative research methodology. Numerical data was collected via questionnaires. The population of the survey were 26 Master’s Degree students who were taken the course “Business English”. Conducted questionnaires aimed at revealing students’ attitude to the content area of the course, forms and methods used as well as their preference in types of performance activities, teachers’ support, course elements. Students’ motivation as one of the key factors in successful learning was also represented. Obtained results of the course evaluation questionnaires were measured and didactic materials for the course were reviewed and modified. Educational didactic material development with due regard to students’ preferences contributes to better perception, acquisition and understanding foreign language material.
