Abstract:
E-comleet stands for complex lessons in Educational Technology (ET). It consists of a selection of four fundamental issues of essential knowledge to be covered in any setting of ET. Educational Technology is a broad term that encompasses a variety of educational contexts and it is concerned with all aspects of human learning in which technology is used to facilitate or enhance learning.
The fast-paced emergence of new technologies, coupled with immediate access to vast volumes of information on the web, have resulted in numerous challenges within education. At the same time, these two aspects of the digital age bring great opportunities to educators. It is possible to ‘re-think’ education as the force of the future, where learners are agents of change. This new population of learners can equip themselves to investigate and reflect on the epistemology of human complexity, raise their awareness of their own global identity, and transcend the status quo to create a sustainable future.
E-comleet was developed by Rita Santillan in September 2010 . The main objective is that the new instructional designs of ET cover the four complex lessons as an important curricular aspect that have been, until now, systematically neglected in education. The four complex lessons are:
The four complex lessons are: (1) detecting error and illusion, (2) confronting humanity and scientific uncertainties, (3) building identity (thisness) and (4) visioning transcendence.
