Abstract:
In the class communities not only the personalities of the students differ, but also their characteristics related to learning. Pedagogical diagnostics serves as a tool for the identification of these features. In this study, we use one of the tools of pedagogical diagnostics, the identification of multiple intelligence among university students. For economics students, there are certain types of intelligence to which their education is more important when dedicated. Such are mathematical-logical intelligence and interpersonal intelligence. The aim of this study was to identify the types of multiple intelligences among economics students, in order to make suggestions for their improvement to make the educational process more efficient. Before carrying out the research, we translated the multiple intelligence questionnaire developed by Howard Gardner into Hungarian language. This was filled in by 375 economics students between December 2019 and February 2020. The incoming data were analyzed in a statistical program. We examined whether there is a relationship between multiple intelligence and some demographic characteristics. Knowing the results, we formulated suggestions about the most important types of intelligence for economists. In addition, individuals involved in the research received feedback on their strengths and the types of intelligence that need to be developed in their case.
