Abstract:
In order for the job search process to be successful, it is essential that the applicant prepares the appropriate application documents. The documents required to apply for a position may differ from company to company, organization to organization, institution to institution, therefore the two most frequently requested documents, the CV and the motivation letter, were included in our research. These are the documents that, when reviewed by a potential employer, give the first impression of the applicant. The employer learns some personal information and gathers knowledge about the applicant's previous studies and work experience. These documents can also show why the applicant wants to work in the given job, why it is worth choosing him/her. Like everything else in life, this can be done well and badly. The purpose of this study is to identify what knowledge and habits candidates have regarding the application documents during a job search. To identify this, we conducted a questionnaire survey between November 2020 and March 2021. This paper summarizes the results of the research in textual and graphical form, and contains the testing of the hypotheses we set up. The results of the study can be used at both individual and organizational levels, but has more benefits for educational institutions, as these institutions can have a significant impact on the job search knowledge and habits of their graduate students entering the labor market.
